Hi all,

Can you help? I'm desparate to get this fixed. Today the when the arm got to the end of the record it just sat there and the tonearm would not lift. I have cleaned the blade contacts at the rear below the arm mechanism but the arm still will not raise. The contacts look quite bad and have cleaned then some more but the arm still does no raise. The contacts look as though they make contact but I cant be sure. Is there a test I can do to check?

Any ideas or guidance appreciated?

Hi,

I have looked at the gripper motor shaft and cannot turn this - should I be able too? If the contacts are OK could it be a fuse has blown. If so which fuse is the gripper motor fuse?

Update ...

I have now moved by hand the gripper motor on the knurled shaft and returned the record to the carousel. Switched back on records plays but does not cancel using the button at the rear and arm does not lift at the end of the record. I guess this mean the fuse has gone on the gripper motor. Problem is I dont where the fuse is or its size.

Update again.

I must be going mad. It cant be the gripper motor fuse as its just put a record on. Back to the blade switch??

I cleaned the blade again with a very very fine piece of emery and its working again.
