Hi
I have a rockola 488 operating at 240 volt (ireland). Just last night one of the 3 amp fuses on the power supply board blew , tried a few more same thing keeps happening. Took a look inside the power supply and there appears to be a sort of white residual powder on the RFI filter. Tried to turn on again and bang with a fair amount of smoke, one end of the rfi filter cracked. I presume this would have been causing my fuse problems. Anyway now where to look for a replacement. Can the rfi be disconnected and an up to date rfi filter be used at the electrical socket where the machine is plugged in or is that too easy. The exact writing on the rfi filtering unit is as follows
Funk Entstorfilter
0,25uF + 2x2500pF + 2x4mH
+2,2MOhms 250v-4A F12.050/5
550-6 560-7 W-Germany
KQF EW1
Does anyone know anything about this and where to source an equivalent one
thanks
Sean

Hello Sean

You can remove the burnt RFI - filter and run your box without the filter.

A replacement should be available in good elecrtonic shops. It is not important, to get the exact values. Voltage and current values must be same or higher.
