AMI JAI-200 Will Not Play Records

Hi Everyone

We have a JAI-200 at home that will not select a record after the buttons are pressed...

The carrousel can be moved by pressing the manual button so the motor moves the wheel... but when you press the buttons the wheel won't spin to go and find the record.

you can hear the buzzing sounds and the keys pop back up... so I'm sure the selection is registering...

but it doesn't seem to send the command to go and get the record to play

Does anyone have any ideas? Are there any good webistes that help with troubleshooting?

I think, the scan unit is sticking. Unfortunately the scan unit is not easy to find. It is located behind the popularity meter. You can reach it, when you open the back door. Near the pins of the popularity meter you can see a black coil. This is the scan magnet. On the top of the scan magnet you can see a lever. If you pull this lever down, the magazine should run and the selected records should be played.

The trouble is commonly caused by a worn sleeve on the shaft of the popularity meter. [ssl.kundenserver.de] On the drawing you can see the scan magnet (F-3615) and the lever (F-3607). Sometimes it can help, if you adjust the scan magnet one or two milimeters higher.
