Diffusor motor restored on Americana 3 (3300)

Hi,

On my Wurlitzer Americana III ( 3300 ) the diffusor motor wasn't working, the body of the motor became warm when the box was some time switched on.

This is how I repaired it:

The motor has been dismounted from it's bracket, the pulley has been removed and the body of the motor has been opened. At the side of the axle there are 4 places where the metal of the housing is twisted at the cover plate. When this points are straightened with a side cutter, the cover plate can be removed. Remove carefully because 2 small axles can fall out of the body.
Remove the toothed wheels and clean the axles and wheels with isopropyl alcohol, check out if the motor axle inside can be turned and if it's turning freely. Then lubricate all parts with non sticking lubrification oil ( spray ) and re-assemble all parts. I didn't ply the points on the housing because of the bracket which is keeping all parts together when attached.

I replaced the diffuser belt with a new one and powered up the box; the diffuser works again !!

Xavier ;-)
