Greetings,
I’m interested in finding a light shield that goes on the front door of a Rockola 1438 or 1446. Mine is missing. Please let me know if you have one or know of anyone that can make one.
Kind regards,
Todd

Greetings Jürgen,
I solved the problem; all related to the wall box.
Caked on grease all around gear mechanism behind the selection wheel caused sticking and created timing issue with the stepper. Also found a loose electrical connection on the right button bank.
Thank you for your reply,
Todd

Greetings, I have a Rockola 1546 wall box connected to a 1454 jukebox. The wall box selects songs 1-110 perfectly, but when making selections 111-120 the songs assigned to slots 91-100 are played instead. Has anyone faced this issue before and resolved it? Any suggestions for how to solve this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Axel. Not sure if you received my earlier email. Were you able to find an extra light shield?

Hi Axel. Sadly Thomas is not producing these anymore nor does he have the dimensions. Do you have dimensions that I might use to make one myself?

Greetings. I am restoring a Rockola 1446. On the back of the front door, I think there is a cover plate of sorts that goes above the program assembly and hides the mechanism when viewing from the front. Mine is missing (see attached picture). Arrows point to screws that hold this piece.
Could anyone with a 1446 (or 1438) share a picture of what this piece looks like? Thank you for your he

Jürgen,
Many thanks for your reply. Between the cleaning the audio relay and properly adjusting the speaker contact switch in the wall box - the speakers are working!
Kind regards,

Greetings Jürgen.
The jukebox is a Wurlitzer 2900, and the stepper is a 261B. Unfortunately I cannot upload the instruction sheets, because the file size is too big. I read that the contact should be normally closed.
Thank you for your assistance.

Greetings Jürgen.
I found the audio relay in the 261B stepper. I cleaned the contacts. It appears the contact is normally closed, and power opens the contact. Is this correct. The contact doesn’t move very much, and I would like to test this relay before reinstalling the stepper in the jukebox. Can you provide guidance on how I might do this? The audio relay is mounted on the bottom of t

PS. I have the original instruction sheet that describes the switch that is mounted up in the mechanism. What I’m not sure of is the ‘at rest’ position of the contacts open or closed. Can you please advise?
Kind regards,
Todd

Hello Hans and Jürgen,
I appreciate both of your responses. I, too, tried slipping a piece of paper under the speaker relay contacts, and this does keep the speakers on. I disconnected the extra switch thinking it might be part of the problem, but maybe I should reconnect it. I need to look at the audio relay in the stepper. What is strange is that the speakers come when a selection is mad

I have restored a Wurlitzer 5220 wall box. Everything is working, except the speakers will not function properly. The speakers only come on when a song is already playing and another song is selected. As the cam rotates the speakers come on, and then turn off when the cam reaches the rest position.
Can you provide some guidance on where I should focus my troubleshooting to correct this issu

Greetings,
Has anyone tried matching the gray/silver paint on the back of a Rockola 1454 mechanism cover. I repaired the mechanism cover cracks and will apply a little plastic filler. I would like to touch-up or respray the silver/gray paint where it has flaked off. Thank you for your advice.

Thank you everyone. I appreciate your comments and feedback. I will wait until I can put my eyes on the dome scratches. Maybe they aren't that bad and might just need a light polish.
Best regards, Todd

Greetings,
Can someone tell me the paint type and color for the dome top on a Rockola 1454? Is there a color code that I could match?
Thank you for your kind assistance.

Greetings Axel and Roland,
Thank you for your kind replies. I will reach out to Thomas Badertscher. I did find reproduction pilasters in a translucent cream at this website: . The pattern is the same as the original. I plan to replace the pilasters that are currently on the 1446; they just don't have the right "look".
I don't think I will be able to reproduce the ori

Greetings Axel,

I found site int he UK that sells reproductions that has the same pattern as the original. They are translucent white, but they will be better than the ones on the machine now.

Greetings,
I am restoring a Rock-ola 1446 jukebox. Over the years someone stained the cabinet, and I would like to restore it to the original color. I plan to strip and refinish the cabinet. Has anyone had any experience doing this? Can you recommend any particular materials?
Thank you for your advice and assistance.
