jukebox not operate after scan button used

1958 AMI I 100 manual play
After using the scan button to turn carousel. Eg: putting records in.
I can select a record but the carousel will not turn until I press a solenoid on the left side under the top trim of the record deck area . Then it operates as normal
Is there contacts near this button or is it something else?
Any help will be appreciated.
