Wurlitzer Lyric FL

Hello,

I have a Lyric FL with the following problem:

When I perform the selection of a platter, I can hear the mechanism perform the necessary slections BUT the disq with the 50 platters does not turn to put the selected platter in position to get it played.

Can anyone help me?

(Sorry but my written German is VERY poor. If you want you can answer in German - I can read it)

Hi, Kris!

I am not too familiar with the Lyric FL model. Does your jukebox use the old vertical
drive (where records are played in an upright position) or the later horizontal version
(like ordinary record players)??

If it's the latter, I may give you some hints where to look for the problem.

The mechanism is a vertical one (it plays the records in a vertical position)

Hi!

Sorry, but I can't give you any precise hints because I don't know alot about the old 'vertical'
mechanism.

However, for the horizontal drive a similiar problem sometimes occurs. It is often caused
by the gear end switch which gets misadjusted or its relevant cam becoming loose or
misaligned. The gear end switch is operated when the record changer is in its resting
position, with the record fully released in the magazine. It enables/disables the latch lever
solenoid and prevents the record carrier from spinning when it must not (eg. during play or
transport of the record).

I suggest you check the switches and cams at the mechanism.

Maybe you should consider getting the service manual. You'll surely need it again sooner
or later...
