Can any body help me on how I replace the actuating lever on a beautiful Wurlitzer sl600. I’ve ordered the part but now need to figure out how to change it . I also have the user manual to hand . Any help would much be appreciated.

Hi Andy,

we are talking about the triangle-shaped actuator for switch K7, right?

If so, here's what you should do:

1.) Turn on your SL600
2.) Remove all records from the magazine
3.) Use the SCC's service mode to bring the gripper arm into play position
4.) Turn off the SL600
5.) Take a pencil and carefully mark the exact position of the gripper arm's guidance
6.) Unscrew and remove the guidance
7.) Remove the screws of the holder for switch K8 (the one with the long lever)
8.) Move the holder out of the way
9.) Loosen the clamping screw of the big metal lever (size 10 wrench)
10.) Carefully pull off the lever
11.) Remove the broken plastic actuator piece
12.) Prepare the new actuator (screw and nut) and push it onto the axle
13.) Put the metal lever back on and tighten the screw
14.) Screw the holder of K8 back in place
15.) Put the black big guidance for the gripper arm back in, adjust it according to your pencil markings and tighten the screws
16.) Turn on the SL600 and push the CANCLE-button to bring the gripper arm back into its resting position at the record basket
17.) Turn your jukebox off again
18.) Move the new plastic actuator slowly towards the microswitch until it operates/clicks
19.) Move it a tiny bit further, so the microswitch is reliably actuated
20.) Carefully tighten the screw until the actuator can no longer be shifted on its axle
21.) Turn on the SL600 and wait for the reference run to finish
22.) Put all records back in and test your jukebox for full functionality

That' all! smiling smiley

5.) and 6.) refer to the "mounting bracket / record guide", as shown on the diagram in the manual (part #62 of the gripper arm group).

You should note the exact position where it is mounted to the base plate so you can put it back in at exactly the same position later (without having to fiddle with any adjustments).

The service mode is turned on by setting the switch "SERVICE" at the SCC to ON and push button LT.
