Please help

My friend plugged my 110V Rockola 470 into a 220V wallsocket without the transformer. What kind of damage can I expect and how can I fix it? Is there something as simple as a fuse blown or is it a major damage?

Hi Tommy,

normally, if you are lucky, a simple fuse is blown in the primary circuit of the power transformer. Should there be no fuse or a wrong one, the power transformer itsself can be damaged.

Thank you Dieter for your quick response

Would it be the entire power supply unit that I need to replace:
ROCK-OLA 469 & 470 jukebox part: Tested / Working POWER SUPPLY 48445-1-A

Or is there a separate transformer on these machines?

I don t really know, I need the schematics.
Maybe someone else has the answer.

Hello Tommy,

before replacing the power supply unit, you should check also all secondary fuses in your box.
As far as I can tell from the pictures, there are 3 "circuit breakers" on the left side (simply push in) and 2 or 3 glass fuses inside the power supply unit.
In the user manual or schematics, you should find the location of all fuses in your box and their correct vlaues.

Good luck !

There's only one reason to change the complete power supply, a blown transformer, simply because it's cheaper.
All other problems, like blown fuses, shorted rectifiers, exploded capacitors, can be repaired.
To prevent this problem, it's a good idea to mount the 230V to 120V transformer permanently inside the jukebox.
