2000 Wurlitzer volume shoots up by itself!

Calling all W 2000 experts - again!

I wonder if you can help - once or twice now the machine has involuntarily increased in volume, then dropped again. Last time it went up to nearly full volume and turning the volume control key made no difference.....

Any ideas? The machine was not being touched at the time.
