hi, sometimes, but not always, when the latch coil is activated it produces a loud 'BUZZ'. (when the juke is switched on, or a selection made). it will stop if you make another selection or switch the juke off and on again. the problem is not always present and the buzz is definately coming from the latch coil. is a replacement solonoid needed or is there a fix?

thank you.

Hello Nick,

You can stripping down the latchbar solenoidalso check out the mounts that the solenoid in on. If the noise continues you may have to replace the solenoid.
I would have to check but I may have some used replacements, can you please look for any identifing numbers.
When I get back to work I will check in the manual.

Hello Nick,

there is not so much, you can do against it. The "buzzing" noise happened also from time to time, when the machines were new, but no one took care of it. The noise can only occur, if credit is established. If a customer threw money in, he wanted to make all possible selections immediately. Therefore, the coil was not energized for a long time.

thanks alan and charly,
interesting it was a problem from new, throwing in more money does get rid of the buzz....! alan, i checked my manual and no reference to the fault (that i could see). i will strip the latch down and clean it up, there is 40 years of grime in there. will let you know re. the solonoid. do you do parts? i have a channel out on the amp which points toward the pre amp board but not totally certain as yet. also the credit spend solonoid is dead. other than that i really like the the cadette. sound (even with single channel) is really good.. it has had a half cocked attempt at restoration at some point in it's life (lamp circuit pulled and replaced with aquarium tubes complete with 230v ballast...! etc.) but bought as a spares or repair a nice machine....well....looks to be 2 machines and a fish tank!
best regards, nick
