Help with Conti 1 - installing remote volume/cancel unit

Hi

Does any one has experience with remote volume unit (inc. cancel button) for my AMI conti 1?

I read some where that the wires are special, are they ??

i don't have the wires and want to use replacement - any directions here will be appreciated

also, how do i plug this remote - directly to the amp or should i connect it to the existing volume mechanism on the back of the machine ?
