Seeburg 100R - sluggish reaction making selection

for those who have the same problem :

when I bought this juke making a selection wasn't possible ( just no reaction after making a selection )
at first I cleaned and adjusted the credit/cancel unit ( also new caps ) : still no reaction

next was taking a look at the selector and I noticed the rubber dampers on the treadle bar had "melted"
and parts of it had dripped down the housing and the lockplates
after removing the residu the selector worked again but sluggish

after making a selection it took about 4 - 5 - 6 seconds before a pin was activated
solved this by making the gap between the contacts smaller , this reduced it to about 2-3 seconds
strangely by making more selections shortly after the first there was no noticeable sluggishness

for years it didn't bother me , but lately it became worse
time to take the dmn thing apart

cause : damping tape between the housing and the lockplates

removed those ( also cleaned the whole selector ) and it works perfect again
pin is activated immediatly after making a selection

ps adjusted the contact gap to 0.6mm ( between 0.4 and 0.8 is allowed )
this way the contact ain't closed at the first letter or number selection only after the
combination is made both contacts close simultaneously
