AMI Continental 2 Amplifier

I was wondering if someone with a good Continental amp could put an ohmmeter across the output terminal strip (E1-E6), E4 being ground. with the speakers disconnected of course. This one is stereo.
I'm looking for resistance readings for the various pinouts.
I'm trying to determine if I have a bad ouput transformer.

Thanks to all
Tony

Hello Tony

At a stereo amplifier you have the possibility of comparing the resistance values of the two output transformers directly.

The resistance value of the secondary winding is not saying much about the condition of the transformer. Faults in output transformers are to be found almost exclusively in the primary winding. Here, many faults can be detected by measuring the resistance, but not all.

For a proper examination a sine wave generator and an oscilloscope is needed. You'll also need knowledge and experience in order to evaluate the displayed results. If you do not have it, an expert should check the amplifier.
