nsm century 21 jukebox

Hi I have a nsm century 21 jukebox . I press select on the jukebox it is searching for the record but not picking it up. can any one help me please.

does this error occurs suddenly, other way round, does the Century ever work correctly?

Hi my jukebox was working ok but it gargoyle started 2 do this then my clutch went on the jukebox so had that fixt so thourt it would work fine when I got it back but still not picking up the records it is just searching up and down the track .before the clutch went it was taking at least 4 goes before it would pick record up it .thank u

yes all fuses have been checked my friend checked them with a meter but I will check again. would this course the problem or should I be looking else were. thank you for your help do you have any more suggestions thank you .

just for clarification, do you have the Century 21 or the Century 21E?

Hi it is a century 21 the number on the plate at the back is 30701443 if that is any good 2 u thank u 4getting back 2 me

ok., I think this makes it easier to locate the problem.
I do not have a Century 21 but all older NSM boxes are electromechanically similar.
Nevertheless there are some possible reasons for your problem.
First of all, you wrote the problem occurs after the clutch has been fixed, so the carriage must has been removed to do this.
Please check the read contacts at the end of the carriage's outrigger, may be they are damaged or misaligned.
If you dont know what I mean I will send a picture.

Hi no it had this problem be 4 the clutch went . it was just going up and down the track searching 4 the record and not picking up then the clutch .so got that fixed and thought that wood sort the problem out but its still the same .thank u please will u send me the photo so I can check thank u 4

lot of reasons responsible for your problem.
Question again, do you have a schematic?
If everything else is ok., there are two main reasons,
1. Selection is made but not written in magnetic core memory, so the write-in circuit should be checked (schematic will help).
2. Selection is made and written in magnetic core memory but the machine cannot find it, so the read-out circuit should be checked (schematic will help).
Are you able to provide a picture showing front and back of your central unit?

as far as I can see at your very very very small pics the central unit is similar to mine (Prestige),
so check the fuse, red at the attached picture, hope there is one cannot see through the finger at picture jukebox4.

Hi sorry for not getting back 2 u but hat 2 wait for my friend to check all the fuses we have check and all ok but my friend seems to think it is the selector button because when we press to select he thinks it is just reading the first number and not the second one so if I put 22 it is only getting 2 not 22 so it cant find it if u no what I mean sorry 4 bin such a pain any more suggestions wood be a help thank u very much for your help
